This is a recipe I started making years ago and it has been a favorite of my husband and sons. The addition of carrot and celery was a recent change that I made to help get more vegetables in our diet.
I also switch out the beans sometimes based on what’s in the cupboard. Recipes like this are what makes cooking fun and flexible! Enjoy.
Turkey Sausage & Bean Soup

Ingredients
- 1 can Black Beans (rinsed)
- 2 cans White Beans (rinsed)
- 1 stalk Celery (chopped)
- 1 Carrot (chopped)
- 1/2 Onion (chopped)
- 3 cups Fat Free Chicken Broth
- 14oz Turkey Sausage (sliced into rounds)
Directions
| Step 1 | Saute onion, carrot and celery until the onion starts to carmelize and the carrots and celery soften. |
| Step 2 | Add remaining ingredents to pot. Stir and bring to boil. |
| Step 3 | Turn heat down and simmer for 20 minutes. |
